COMMUNITY

INTERNSHIP

PROGRAM

The Community Internship Program is a paid 24-month internship designed to empower people living with disabilities through real-world work experience. Interns attend 8–10 hours per week and are actively involved in assisting with the running of Social Sessions and events, helping to create welcoming, engaging experiences for all participants. With direct support from our Lead Facilitators, interns build workplace skills, confidence, and community participation while feeling valued and supported every step of the way.

This paid internship follows a clear eight-phase pathway, starting with onboarding and core skill development, then progressing towards independent work readiness and open employment. It’s a structured and supportive journey that creates opportunities to thrive in meaningful, paid roles within the community.

Our SEEKability Program is a great stepping stone for those wanting to learn the necessary skills and fundamentals for the workplace before applying for an internship. SEEKability builds confidence and practical knowledge, preparing participants to succeed in CIP and beyond.

At The Ability Collective, we believe in creating a society where people of all abilities are leaders, creators, and contributors. Our goal is for 50% of our workforce to be people living with disabilities, making meaningful contributions that shape the heart of our community.

We encourage everyone to enquire – our team will guide you through your options and help find the program that best suits your goals and needs.
